I tried this biofeedback tool. I concluded that there was no real connection with releasing and one's success with the machine, whose objective is to regulate the heart rate (specifically, the regularity with which the heart rate increases and decreases naturally) with biofeedback.

One does make progress with the machine in terms of regulating the  pattern in the way the heart rate varies. Whether the psychological and phyiscal benefits are greater than they would be by any other meditative practice, I am unable to say. There is a specific manner of breathing which 'works', not just any deep breathing, or cultivation of calm, or for that matter releasing.

I don't think it has anything to do with releasing. But who knows. To my way of thinking, regulating the body-mind with all these things, heartmath machines, holosync, deep breathing etc. is great. They really make you feel different, and can may you feel better, and make your life work better on various levels. Even more powerful in my experience is running, skiing, yoga, inline skating, mindfulness meditation, or swimming in a warm sea. You really feel your body and your outlook on life changing for the better when you apply yourself to one or more of these activities. Finding the point where these methods of cultivating and giving health to the mind and body intersect with a spiritual path, if there is any connection, is more problematic.

The advice given by Mr. Malouf in one of his recent hootless calls, to do a bit of aerobic exercise every day, might sound obvious but is worth repeating and can be life-changing. I would put that higher in my daily priorities than heartmath, which is by no means to say that heartmath is not a valuable tool.

I wonder if anyone ever tried using the EmWave with releasing? I´ve had one for a few years, tried releasing with the thingie, but without any certain result. I do remember a few years back, that someone used this instead of that machine Larry sold a while back.

Cheers...
