What is the opposite of being nervous? Calm and peaceful is what I would say, right?
So "I allow myself to be calm and peaceful with ease" would be a much better goal, imho.
You can't not think of a pink elephant. I told you not to do it. What appeared? A pink elephant regardless, because you can't not think of something without having to think of it first.
So I would take out he word "nerves" or "nervous" and replace it with what it is you would like to have as your end result. It's fine to give the nervous feelings approval when they arrive in the moment, of course. Just make your Goal Statement reflect what it is that you Do would like to have: "A calm and peaceful mind and body".

How about... I allow myself to joyously accept and love my nerves with easy.
See how this feels for you.

Honestly, a calm and peaceful mind and body isn't actually what I'd like to have. I'd rather really like to love my nerves, to love what I have, to let it be and then to let it all go (or even not, I want to be happy with what I have). Nerves for me do not actually imply being nervous, but rather are a part of the mind&body duo.
I tried "I allow myself to have healthy nerves" but it just didn't feel right, I had a feeling that my nerves are not healthy at the moment. I am a little overananalyzing, I know ;)
Chaim:
I will try "I allow myself love my nerves with ease".
Thanks ;)
Permalink Reply by Tom Verbroekken on December 12, 2010 at 8:36pm Ah you meant the actual nerve system in the body. Right. Yeah language can be confusing at times.
Well since that is, like you said, a part of the mind & body duo...allow yourself to love all of your body including your nerve system with ease?
I would phrase it in the positive, like Chaim did...except I would change the word "nerves". Why? Nerves is an ambigious word that can have too many meanings, like "getting on my nerves" :) Nerve system is quite clear and has no ambigious meanings.
So you can be really specific and say that you have a healthy nervous system, or generalize and have a healthy body including a healthy nerve system. I would suggest phrasing a goal for a healthy body since the nerve system is part of the body :)
