Permalink Reply by Alan Rasmussen on November 22, 2011 at 2:46am I haven't taken either Larry's or Hale's classes, but I took quite a few classes with both of them in Phoenix and Sedona, mostly from Virginia Lloyd. They're both pointed at helping you let go of all limitations, but Larry has something of the style of a businessman and Hale is more like a guru. They will have changed, too, over the years, but Larry in the 1980s wanted to fix you, and would work hard and selflessly to help you get past your obstacles. Hale seemed to think it would be nice if you decided on your own to "fix yourself," and would offer many useful tips of how to do it. Hale is very creative, or else he has touch with people or entities that bring him new twists and angles on how to see that you are not your feelings. They are not your identity; they're almost your clothing. Larry is a practical guy and can easily appear uncaring, but he's set on offering the goodness he has to any who wish to share it--and pay a few hundred to do so.

I read that Larry is sticking to the method as taught by lester, but Hale is adding his own innovations to it.
Larry is very 'straight' and doesn't mess about.
Hale is more sweet, and from the sedona audios I have heard, involve less focused releasing and more general talks/holistic.
Different styles, choose which fits your personality more appropriately. I've seen some people put up a bit of resistance to Larry at a weekend because he can seem quite dismissive or uncaring. The truth is he's just not interested in the story and wants to get to the root.

I'd say Larry is fed up with both people and their roots and couldn't care less or he wouldn't direspect people like he does, bring them down and leave them there.
Permalink Reply by Lisa [Hootless Crew] on January 2, 2012 at 11:12pm Dear Line...Sorry to hear you have this point of view about Larry. It is difficult to accept someone exactly the way they are if they appear not to fit into our map of what someones behaviour should be like.
I have to disagree where you say he couldn't care less though. Both he and Hale have kept their promise to Lester and dedicated their lives to the Method we know today, getting it and keeping it out there. Larry could have easily retired from it when we think about it but there he is still travelling and running seminars in his 70's. That is amazing really.
Try the special clean up on Larry, you may find it helps a bit....welcome to Hootless by the way.
Permalink Reply by Alan Rasmussen on January 10, 2012 at 12:02am In 1982 Annrika James, who taught the Sedona Method long (maybe a dozen years) before either Larry or Hale, and still does (you can find her online) said to us in a class: "You might be able to go free on Larry alone," and she smiled. She meant he tended to bring up people's feelings. Lester himself often did things on purpose to provoke strong feelings, to help promote letting go.
Permalink Reply by Hootless.Com on January 10, 2012 at 2:43am Hey Alan - Annrika and her husband Tim led a wonderful call for us toward the end of 2011. It is in the archive if you click on the 2011 tab. You are right too Lester called such provokation 'Ego Presentation' - However, it is said that it was dropped as part of the technique because if too strong some stopped releasing altogether because of it :)
Permalink Reply by Line on January 10, 2012 at 2:19pm Larry's ego is too big for him to stop travelling around 'sharing' the method. If he was truly that great people attending the seminars/retreats would jump at the oportunity to release with him when he invites. Instead what I've seen is that the inexperienced fall into the 'trap' and is hustled/humiliated/broken down, especially sensitive people. The more experienced and bold/tough take it on and the rest(most) refrain from interacting with him. My experience is in Europe and not USA. Americans and Europeans are different. And Europeans are different amongst ourselves with that in common that we are not Ameicans. I've live in the States and Larry's ways are not estrange to me, but I find them very, very unfortunate. The method is potentially a good one, but just as lethal with a disrespectful leader/teacher like Larry running it. In my opinion he has not changed his ways since being that bully of a successful businessman. He's just found easier ways to satisfy his ego, stepping on weak, wounded and sensitive souls rather than equally roothless people.

Permalink Reply by Hootless.Com on January 10, 2012 at 6:46pm Dear Line....We would kindly ask you to refrain from the critique aimed at Larry Crane. Whilst we are an open forum and seldom ever have to moderate.....we do not permit negativity towards any other forum member. Larry is himself a member here and so this includes him.
We appreciate you are new and finding your way around here so we invite you to take a look at our guidelines so you can familiarize yourself with the sites protocol. Please keep this and any other thread on topic.
Thank you for your understanding
Permalink Reply by Chuck Goodwin, [SMaRT Host] on January 11, 2012 at 4:24am Hi, Line.
Thank you for being a releaser, for joining Hootless and for participating in the discussion about Hale and Larry under the Groups menu.
I'm a member of Hootless, have been volunteering my services as a coach using The Sedona Method® here for about 4 years and occasionally host a support call of some sort.
I apologize for the delay in contacting you (see my other email to you) but I've been unavoidably off the net for 2 weeks and am only now getting caught up again.
Regarding the above referenced discussion, I think you've already been referred to point 4, section 2, about making "defamatory" comments under the Terms menu. Please do be sure you're familiar with all of that material, as others have done, as you continue to contribute to the site by posting your responsible opinions and points of view.
As you may have gathered, Hootless is an "open site" and welcomes releasers who use Hale's Method, Larry's Technique, Lester's other active instructors' releasing programs and even the practices of allied modalities that complement or supplement the letting go of stored, unwanted emotions for the unlimited betterment of us all.
I don't know and don't need to know what happened to leave you with these opinions but Hootless is a place where all well-meaning people can get effective help. Let's follow Lester's advice and use your experience for releasing purposes. This way, even though we can't change the past, we can free ourselves of any upset related to it and get back to enjoying the many good things life has to offer.
If you'd like to work alone or with a buddy, I'd like to suggest revisiting Chap. 11, p. 233, "The Cleanup Procedure," in the book, The Sedona Method. Going through this thoroughly, to the point of becoming hootless, as recommended by Lester; has predictably created near miracles for thousands and thousands of releasers, worldwide, for decades. It will for you too.
If you're open to working with a releasing coach who has extensive training and years of field experience, you're more than welcome to avail yourself of the free hour of coaching in the Welcome Kit available to new people through the SMaRT Start program on Hootless. Click on the green "START" button on the Home page and leave a message. I'm reasonably sure that, working together to release this and any other upsets that may arise, we can get you stably to peace.
Some time ago, I took a wonderful workshop on effective communication in which they actually taught how to make an effective complaint. I've used it to my benefit ever since.
First and foremost, they recommend complaining only to someone who can do something about it. Otherwise we're just venting and seeking to gather agreement for our point of view, which doesn't help us or anyone else.
Here are the 4 steps they recommend. First, as clearly and succinctly as possible, after removing all emotion from the description of events, simply state what happened. Second, state in the same way, how this harmed you and/or others. Third, state that you think it's evident that they were the ones that did it, caused it, etc. Fourth, make a specific request that will allow them to make amends to your satisfaction.
It's not flawless and you may not always get what you want but at the very least it gets it off your chest, puts the ball in their court and may alert them to a previously unknown problem that they'd be glad to know about. You might also get exactly what you want, or more.
This is an often overlooked way that consumers can help providers to improve their goods or services. You may find them very grateful. It may take a while to think it through and to put it into action but it definitely does help make the world a better place for us all.
Thanks again for joining Hootless and we hope you enjoy the site. Please let your releasing friends know about it as well.
Permalink Reply by Sharon Long on February 18, 2012 at 11:27pm I'd say Release Technique is more goal oriented, maybe more "practical." Whereas Sedona Method is more abstract and I'd even say, more advaitic. I think they complement each other perfectly.
