Never have but I have done other energy healing, and I can tell you it really works remarkably well. Which is not surprising, since it is proved that placebos lower pain by an average of about 50%, accounts for 75% of the effectiveness of anti-depressents, and (according to a BBC radio programme I heard) have even been demonstrated to stimulate the growth of muscle tissue, in the heart if my memory serves me. Tests have also shown excellent results from acupuncture, but in most cases the same for 'real' and 'pretend' acupuncture. This is praise, not criticism: if mainstream medicine have proved the effectiveness of placebos, doctors would do well to use them more widely, and so would we as patients. Buy with confidence :-)

Here is a wonderful story of a man whose cancer was dramatically cured by placebo http://www.what-is-cancer.com/papers/newmedicine/placeboandcancer.html but he relapsed when newspaper stories shook his faith in the drug he wrongly thought he had taken. The Wikipedia article linked above also has stories of the placebo effect working differently in different countries, apparently depending on the extent to which one's peers reinforce the expectation of a treatment working. The power of belief, including shared belief, is remarkable! It is so powerful for herpes that it is argued it is difficult to test any non-placebo therapy http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/1097864, which must have over 70% effectiveness before you can distinguish any 'real' treatment from placebo. Yet there are also certain biochemical conditions where the placebo effect has proved fairly limited. It is a fascinating area.

Hi John,

yes, I know of placebo (and nocebo) and the story above. Though I like to think of it as a placebo-RESPONSE, a phenomenon inherent in people, rather than in "stuff":)

To bad the placebo of SMaRT never worked its magic on me:)

Cheers...iFrank

To bad the placebo of SMaRT never worked its magic on me:)

Sorry to hear that. But there is no magic. SMaRT sells a recipe claimed to enable us make the dishes of our choice. But as Mooji said, the free one does not bring his own menu to the restaurant of life. I think it is also good to pray for healing.

Those who do not believe in magic will never find it ;)

And what is madgic.Who has told that some thing is magic and some thing is not?

Who has taken the authority to tell that someone is enlightened or not?

I do not care what answer is cause all the answers are inside me, if i can call them answers at all.

It is all what person wants to believe or take as proof or right. Depending the surroundings and society where the person lives.

I do not know what to "believe" or who to "believe" cause what you are experiencing might not be mine.

It goes too filosophical and well as you can see.. thoughts in this body mind as i am called like to make things now tricky and complicated. For the sake of comunication :)

Well Frank, if you want feel free to buy, i suppose one book in the shelf is ok to have to experence something new. Before that you would not know how it goes if you have not tried. Is this what he experiences is something what you experience.

No ;-) I stopped the search and gave up the beliefs. So it looks like I will never find it :-)))))

But am concerned about Frank's post, sound from here a bit like a cry for help.

Haha, not at all. Just because SMaRT is close to worthless in my opinion, doesn´t mean that I´m in trouble:)

I am a sucker for powerful methods, new interesting ways and so on. From what I´ve heard, read and experienced this far, the Yuen Method seems to be quite powerful. On the first call with Paul (Chinese Energetics) I was lucky! enough to have a pain in my hip area, that vanished, faster than I could say Poof. I just like that kind of stuff. That is practical magic to me:)

I did buy an eBook on allergies from Dr. Yuen, but didn´t like it much. Before investing further, I´d just like to hear if anyone had any experiences with the material.

But thanks for the concern:)

Cheers...iFrank

Hi Frank,

Pleased to hear that you are ok :-)

What works for one may not for another I guess. I am still a fan of the Lester students who have taught here, especially the more 'pure' non-dualist end in terms of style.

When I see a website from someone saying in effect 'buy my course and you will get healthy AND richer fast' I can only say the claims made my Grandmaster Dr Yuen are rather similar, though in perhaps in bolder terms, to those made by SMaRT. Maybe it will work better for you than you feel SMaRT has.

I have attempted to check out some of the qualifications and claims of Grandmaster Dr Yuen, and commend you to do the same (for example the martial arts lineage, the precise source of the title 'Grandmaster', and the identity of the organization who call him a 'living legend'). None of the Lester students has such an admirable honour-roll of achievement on their website, with the possible exception of David Hawkins, whose listed qualifications and achievements are also pretty impressive (last time I looked).  Grandmaster Dr Yuen's most suprising claim, to be a 'colonel in the International Police Force', has been modestly dropped from the website.

Powerful methods

If you are looking for powerful methods, maybe you know The Presence Process already. It takes the biscuit for turning your life upside down, while at first sight involving no 'magic' and nothing obviously clever or 'powerful'. But you have to accept that when you expose yourself to something so powerful you might experience tough times. Several people here have done it for the recommended 'about' three times, and I think few if any will disagree that even doing it once, it stands out as especially 'powerful' in terms of impacting your life, albeit not necessarily in ways you can plan or control. To do it, all you need do is buy the book and spend ten weeks working through it. And yet it compares with no end of expensive retreats and audio courses in terms of deeply affecting all who sitck with it.

I agree with what you say on the Presence Process John....I have completed the third round and continue daily with the after care :) For me it was transformational, powerful and changed my life like nothing else has ever done and super fast. It was also quite magical to me how 'messengers' showed up even if not pleasant it was a fascinating experience. And on that note David Robert Ord is going to be back in June to do a follow up call now so many of us have done the process and he is going to talk about many other things too...one to look out for coming soon.

Frank just like TPP I find the Yuen Method incredibly powerful and fast. For me it is the synchronicities that keep on coming that make it fascinating. It clears things out to causality and doesn't just change the way we think about something, it really does clear it! And in doing so there is much re-allignment that takes place almost instantly I find....

Hi both,

I do remember that the Presence Process was on everyones lips a few years back. I´ll take a look at it again, never did the process at the time for more than a few days. Didn´t quite fit in at the time.

At the moment I´m playing around with TFT, back in the mid nineties I sponsored a seminar on Callahan Techniques (as TFT was called then). However, the trainer was just plain awful and turned us all away from the technique. Plus the weirdness of physically beating yourself up, in order to feel better.

Over the years I experimented with EFT without any success, recently tried TFT again, with somewhat remarkable result.

I guess it´s the saying (as you John pointed out) Different folks - different strokes.

Regarding websites and marketing, I agree that Dr. Yuen does make quite some claims, as does Harry Trane. American websites and marketing portrays a culture that´s not quite in line, with the culture I´m brought up in. Shredding away the BS, is why I ask for Hootless members opinion and experiences with methods that catches my eyes and ears:)

Cheers...iFrank
