..... SMaRT WORLDWIDE - 6 AM SYDNEY AUSTRALIA - 5 PM RIO BRAZIL - 11 PM ISTANBUL

Hello Everyone,

I was just listening to one of the audio recordings of the Hootless calls.  More specifically, the one Tom lead on 3/28/2010 and was wondering what other people's experiences have been like with the vortex.  I believe at some point in the audio Tom had made reference to Hale talking about how to support the vortex in spinning and I was wondering if anybody knew which CD collection Hale shows people how to do that.  Does anyone know?

For myself, I've had experiences where I feel like I am the vortex itself--so most of the spinning I experience shows up as body sensations vs. actually being able to "look down and see the bvortex spinning away from in the distance."  I will feel like I am the spin, or maybe better said that the spin is wrapped all around my body and even a bit past the boundary of my physical body.  Usually the vortex widens and expands so far out that that is how it seems to disolve.  Does that make sense?  I guess I'm "wanting" to see the vortex and all the pictures spinning in it, but for me usually images or pictures are not what pop for me the most with releasing.  It's almost like pictures get transcribed into body sensations.  (I hope that doesn't sound totally off the wall.)

Anyway, do I need to see the vortex "down there in the distance" slipping away from me like a tornado in the distance?  I did actually ONCE see the vortex spinning (with my eyes closed in the blank space behind my lids) away from me, but this has only happened once.  And it just looked like swirling energy spinning out and returning me back to the normal "blackness" once would see behind closed eyes.

Just curious about other people's experiences.  And of course any feedback or support would be lovely as well!

Thanks for listening,

Diana

Ok it sounds like you are associating into the vortex maybe a tiny bit too much which is ok up to a point...a useful thing is to imagine the 'vortex' of energy up on a stage or something or on a movie screen and then watch it from the audience...that way you can Lesterize it too and imagine yourself as bigger than the vortex....

I particularly love the Vortex technique as it is incredibly powerful, and being highly visual it works for me......there are various ways of seeing it go too such as:

Hale says could you let it unravel?
Mitul brought in could you let it spin out of existence?
Others are:
Could you let it melt like an ice cube?
Could you let it explode?
Could you let it just dissolve into nothingness?

A very useful 'on the spot' super quick vortex technique is:

Welcome the situation along with any sounds, pictures and sensations that come up.
Welcome at the same time wanting to change the situation.

Spin it out of existence!

Keep on going with anything that seems to be left....until you get to peace!
I do definitely feel like I'm in the vortex vs. viewing the vortex up on a stage usually. When I'm in it and do the Lesterizing as I get bigger and bigger and bigger the vortex sensations of spinning inside the body and mind seem to expand outward further and further until I can't feel them anymore and the spinning does just disolve. so, it does kind feel like the spinning unravels outward into disolving or exploding.

Usually when I do all the "welcoming" the pictures and sounds disolve pretty well, but what seems to be left over and worth putting into the vortex is the sensations that are spinning and rumbling about. so it's hard for me to figure out how to project those sensations onto a screen in front of me when there really isn't a visual to work with. does that make sense?

And thanks so much for your suggestions Lisa!
It does make sense totally....and can you let go of wanting to figure it out ? :)

If you are ok with feeling it the way you explained thats ok....but if you ever find it is too much for you or NOT dissolving then...get a sense of what it would be like to use the 'stage' analogy.....that is what would it feel like for the vortex to be outside yourself for a moment.

Another way that works for me and came to mind when I started enjoying the vortex, was to imagine a huge cooking pot/or cauldron and into it you add each ingredient of the recipe you are cooking....each ingredient is of course part of the situation you are working on. If more of a 'feeling' than visual person it helps to be able to feel the pot 'heat up' and gather the vortex momentum that way, giving it a stir to speed things up along the way......hear it bubbling if you are a sound oriented person and boil over or evaporate etc etc ...

To Lesterize it then you can just ask yourself 'Who is the chef here making this recipe...who is in charge of the pot'...you get the idea .....

Sounds like you are able to let it all dissolve anyway, so thats perfectly fine ... whatever works for each one of us as we are all different...
LOL! I'm TOTALLY WANTING to figure it out! hehehehe

And thanks for the cooking pot idea...I like that Lisa.
Yay! A soup vortex .... LOL
I am kinesthetic, so I don't see the vortex. I feel the energies coming up but normally they dissolve before spinning too much. Normally when I do the third welcoming (the identity) the first and second are pretty much gone. I think I mix the window with the vortex and it flows out before spinning too much. It goes on inside my stomach-chest area, sometimes expanding, but I don't associate because I witness the body when I do it, so its like the body and the feelings are in front of me, and I'm a little higher than it. I still feel it anyway.
I also saw the vortex once, but with my eyes opened. One of my energy stuff instructors taught us how to see energies, and he would use Fire breathing and some crazy techniques to generate a real vortex in front of us to practice seeing it. It looked like that first aura around people, the one that is easy to see, but in movement like a Tasmanian devil. Like that mirage we see when looking way ahead the road in a hot day.
Mario thanks for sharing this. It's really interesting for me to hear about other people's experiences with the vortex. It's helpful in your response and in Lisa's response for me to see how I really am associating with the vortex. Plus I like that you shared that you too don't usually "see" the vortex. I just had a "basic assumption" there that everybody saw the vortex and that's the way it was-- so then assumed i was doing something "wrong" HA!
In the beginning I was trying to see, but it just disturbed the process. I tested with the Icap (as I do with all new techniques) and it worked better when I wasn't trying to do anything.
Mario,

What do you mean by testing with the Icap? By cap do you mean (courageousness, acceptance, and peace?) and if so, then what is the "I"?
The I-Cap is a biofeedback device which purports to show the effectiveness of releasing.

Thanks Jonny. I had no idea.
The Icap is a device with a headband that talks to a computer and displays graphics of your releasing. You can use to identify areas needing releasing, but hard to detect, like areas of apathy or pride, it can show if a subject has a charge or is cleared, or you can use just to check if you are releasing or not. I also use it for goals, so I can see if a goal is charged or not.
When I bought it there was a guy who was one of Lester's students that showed me many ways to use it. People tend to buy it, use it to improve their releasing and then stop using it. As it is not cheap, I keep using it. Sure, anyone can just use their own perception to check if they are releasing or not, cleared or not on something. I used it to calibrate those in the beginning, and saw I was far off the mark. Some times I thought I was releasing and wasn't, some times I was but thought I wasn't. I wasn't very good on dealing with feelings, I had a lot of resistance to them, so it helped me adjust what I was doing until I knew how releasing and being cleared were supposed to be like for me.
I don't know what Icap means. The technical description is that it is an EEG device (electroencephalogram) that is normalized/adjusted according to the brainwaves of releasers. It shows them on a scale of 1-1000, and CAP is below 400.I think the lowest someone achieved was 102. I like to see when sometimes I am in 500, then drop to 300something, then it drops to 200something, then goes up to 900-1000, drops to 200-100, goes up to 900-1000, drops to 200-100 and stabilizes at 300-400. The graph looks like a devil and it feels really good afterward.
