However, if just one will testify to having run a full marathon through releasing only, I´m up for the challenge and will do a full marathon in october, releasing on it till then. Nuff said, words are just words, lets take it for checking;)

When I do the full marathon I will keep you updated.
Permalink Reply by Jordan on June 20, 2011 at 4:01pm People run marathons without releasing, so I don't think it's directly attributed to releasing only. People also have fantastic gains without releasing.
Even though Lester would say you can get things by sitting on your butt, I wouldn't rely on that to get your goals, though releasing should be a part of it. To get a goal, I think there are 3 steps and that is working out how to get there if need be and researching also if that is part of it, releasing, and taking action.
Lester took said he took action to make money from real estate. He also said you can sit on your "butt" and get goals, so there is going to be confusion, and I'm not sure what he means. Maybe he's just saying that it can be more effortless.

Permalink Reply by Mário [Hootless Crew] on June 21, 2011 at 2:37pm If you are wanting this topic to mean "DOn't do absolutely nothing" and you go from there, that's wanting to control. If you want to have a final answer to this topic being this or that, that's wanting to control. If I give you my answer (which is already in the thread, even though it was written by another me :) ), that will only be a belief and do no good.
Lester talks about this many times: "I only know that which I can do". The rest is hearsay.
So, get a small goal and release until you are complete. Then notice what happens. If the goal falls by the wayside (as many will), pick another one.
Each and every goal I've achieved by releasing only I had already completely forgotten about it and I was doing other stuff not related to it. BUT I'm ALWAYS listening and obeying my intuition/Beingness, no matter how weird or senseless what it is asking me to do is (no, I don't believe it will ask me to jump out of a bridge or kill someone). Of course, I release on what It says so I'm sure it is not my ego playing Beingness to deceive me. Anyway, the actions were not related to the goal, so I could say I didn't act to get the goal.
To Frank: Release or no release, resistance will make your physical activity more difficult, so I would use any method you want to release your resistance and run the marathon. The only resistance that is good is physical resistance in this case.
I was a very overweight child, about 50 pounds. I was the main swimmer in my swim team and I was great in all non-collective sports (swimming, running, olympic gymnastics, whatever I did). I didn't resist, I knew I was good (as I knew I was the worse in collective sports and that was so). Sure, sometimes being overweight probably helped as they considered me a weaker competitor until they got their surprise. I didn't resist and everything was easy. My body didn't lose weight even with all the sports and care about eating, but I resisted collective sports and it was hard and I was the worse, and I didn't resist the other sports and it was easy and I was one of the best.
So, why do anything resisting it?

Permalink Reply by Omer Gilad on June 23, 2011 at 6:40pm Sitting on your butt is metaphorical. Problems start when you take it too literally and try to force it on your life ( = wanting to control).
Just release and see how things get effortless. Yes, your body might go out and take lots of action, effortlessly. You'll still feel like you didn't do anything. The important part is to remove the mental effort and struggle.
Regarding marathon - when I say by releasing only, I mean that I released and got to this place by effortless progression. It just happened over a period of time - my body got more and more fit naturally (letting go of resistance) and I realized that I can do this if I decide to. I didn't practice 3+ times a week like crazy, as a lot of runners do.
I did maybe one 8km -> 2 times 10km -> one 16km -> one 21.5 km (> half marathon). That's all the practice I did in order to get there.
Permalink Reply by Lisa [Hootless Crew] on June 24, 2011 at 1:42pm I have found that it is always even the teeniest action that has got me to the destination. When I look back at any goal that I have achieved there was always that tiny action part there, present. It might only have been a simple phone call, e-mail or releasing session to Hootlesslenss, but it was there.
It has never meant sitting on my couch all day waiting for the universe to drop goodies from the sky. Life doesn't work that way at least for me. However, when you're an energetic match to your desired creation, you are inspired to act in a way that brings desired results, and the effortless action takes place. What I mean is that the action becomes zero effort and hardly noticed at all, so that indeed then it does seem as though it was completely effortless creation. There was always at least for me that action step in there somewhere.
It makes me think of the old joke to illustrate this:
A man said to God one day:
"God give me a break let me win the lottery"
God replied:
"Give yourself a break and buy a lottery ticket"
There it is - there is the action step right there. Kick open the door of opportunity and see what happens - and releasing of course is a wonderful way to get rid of the hidden blocks that restrict us vibrationally and energetically.

I commend the rest of that paragraph in particular. This has been my experience, even this week.
Mario applies this comment to sports and being overweight as a child, which makes in inclined to share something which probably should go in Gains. I am not exercising much (and I need to do more) but waist size has dropped off to pretty much ideal, and I find it really hard to say why. Probably I snack less and drink less, but there is no conscious decision or effort to change, and I have not stopped consuming snacks or drinking: my lifestyle is far from what it should be ideally. On this narrow detail, however, the problem has gone away and stayed away.
Lester said (direct transcript):
I want to give you another practical thing that will help you go free, and it is this. Whatever you do, whatever you want now, get it by releasing [pause] only. Whatever you want, get it by releasing only. I'm underlining 'only.' And it might kill you, because it's so easy, it drops into your lap.
Through this process you will learn to materialise. Even gold.... I suggest you put up a sign in your room: GET EVERYTHING ONLY THROUGH RELEASING.
Permalink Reply by Evan on September 22, 2011 at 9:49pm Great topic and glad to be reading, especially as earlier today I posted about how no great musician I know or ever heard of did it by releasing "only" without playing their instrument.
I'm talking about playing on the level of a master. Or running a marathon among the elite speeds of the world. "I'd like to win an olympic gold medal by releasing only" type of scenario.
Right now I rule this out as a possibility - some will say that is a limitation and so be it. I do believe this can get you to the state where this is an effortless and enjoyable experience, which sounds ideal to me but one must actually play/do the thing.
Which introduces the perspective to me: why would you WANT it to happen without the joy of actually playing the music, doing the exercise (exercise can feel amazing). Why bother making yourself physical? Enjoy being here - do and create just take the strain out of it.
The distinction here is between "things" (getting money) and skills. These "skills" such as music or building a house or being an electrician are ultimately an expression of who you are. They can feel natural and fun as they are acquired. If I decide I want to speak french sitting in my room releasing until i just knew french - don't know. Seems less fun and interesting than going to France anyway, but it is an interesting discussion for sure.
