Flattr Hootless!

Hello each and everyone!

There is now a small "flattr" button in the left sidebar below the donate button.

The flattr button is another way for you to show your appreciation for stuff like music, videos and... Hootless.com.

It is kind of a social micropayment system, very new to the web. It is an alternative way to show appreciation for something you like rather than donating. A nice Swedish invention.

So if you like the content, feel free to flattr it!

Flattr clicks usually generate smaller amounts than regular donations, but compensate in quantity :)

And you can of course use flattr buttons yourself if you have written or created something that others might appreciate!

Flattr seems to brilliant so I've just signed up to try it out.

Whereas I thought it was a way to quickly and easily give donations, it's not quite that. It turns out to be another one of those Reddit/Digg/'Facebook Like' voting systems that are seen everywhere. However, with the weight of real money rather than empty clicks behind this system, it is different in that I'll actually be using this one (and with great joy too, I feel)!

Isn't it strange that my review of Flattr should be posted to Hootless?

Hi Khu,

Great that you found flattr useful :) The only con to me, is one has to be a registered user to be able to flattr someone or something . So that makes it more of a social micropayment/appreciation system (flattr others to be able to be flattred) rather than a donation system. But I think it has growth potential!

yeah, i hope i can find enough things to flattr each month ;) haha

(right now i have zero content for which i could be flattred. i do agree with you that this will probably grow huge - and furthermore will only bring goodness all around)
