Sometimes it seems like my mind will fix on a negative thought or a negative person in my life, and then I can't seem to let it go. Then like every 5 minutes it pops back into my head. Can anyone give me some tips to let this junk go! Thanks!!!
I might be wrong person to answer to that but i have grown to deal with these thoughts this way.
If thought comes accompanied with the physical sensation, i allow it to grow unbearable and it dissolves. I do not release ( use this wording as they teach )
Sometimes i in purpose also welcome it , helps to get the sensing stronger. But it fully depends how deep you want to go and how well you bear those sensations ( whatever those then are ).
I use some other ways also but these are lenghty to explain. Also i try to pull up any kind of possible old pattern scenarios, regarding the person. And i do it as long as i feel neutral aout hearing or telling out his name or visualising him/her.

Well I basically try to release using like the intro of the 3rd disc on the new goals and resistance course, it is kind of how Rich teaches. I will use the Love yourself books releasing processes. I try to just let it release out of my chest. It just seems like it is stuck and won't move. I will even try Larry's way of saying Go, Just go, go, etc to try to change it. LOL Thanks.
Ok, the first thing that is recommended for releasing on a person is to run the Special Releasing Process from the basic course. Cycle through that as many times as needed, just be careful not to assume that "well, I did it 10 times and I still have the thoughts, so it's not working". I've run through that for hours when I was really negative. Instead, cycle through it, I don't know, 5 time maybe and check to see if you feel a little better. If yes, keep going and frequently check. If you go through it, let's say, 25 times and there's absolutely no improvement, do Attachements and Aversions to that person, beginning with the aversions. Then go back to the Special Process if there's still something left. In any case, even if the Special releasing process works fine, do the attachments and aversions to be sure you are completely clear.
Now, notice what you wrote: "I will even try Larry's way of saying Go, Just go, go, etc to try to change it." When you think about this and Step 5, what comes up for you about being stuck? I'll let you sit with this one and ask more if you like, instead of just answering now.
Finally, instead of using the "Go, go", see if the energy is coming from <wants> and release the wants. When there's no more want, check the energy again. Be sure to check the same energy. Sometimes we have more energy coming up and we think we are stuck, when in reality it is something else and you've already released the original energy. Your ego will tell you it is stuckness so you stop.
I can relate. How about this: Every time one of those thoughts pops up...can you ask yourself:
1) can I allow that thought to be there or do I want to change it? See which want that brings up...and let it go.
2) Can I let go of wanting to control my thoughts?
3) Can I let go of judging myself for disliking them? Can I let go of wanting to control myself? Can I let go of wanting to change them?
After you ask yourself the question bring it to a want and let it go as best you can...
