Does anyone know about this book or have checked it out?

http://lesterandme.com/component/virtuemart/?page=shop.product_deta...

I'm curious if it is actual transcripts of convos with Lester.

I have to say, the website and the writing is REAL rough.. a lot of things about it give me reservations about what the quality of the book might be so I'm curious if anyone knows what's up.

I'm always more than happy to read anything direct quoted/recorded of Lester.

I bet he could do GREAT business if he gave that book away as a gift for opting in to his email list w/ then a deal for some 1 on 1 or the recordings and other stuff he sells.

I imagine he must be on good terms with Hale or have some kind of authorization because he has Sedona Method all over his website and ranks in the top 5 for it - that's a nice piece of internet real estate!

No it's not actual transcripts, its Steve Sereton's personal recollections of conversations between Lester and himself. But these are recollections were written 20 years or so after the conversations took place, so are is very much the author's interpretation of Lester's words, not Lester's actual words. It's worth reading if you want to get a 'feel' of what it was like to hang out with Lester back in the day, but I wouldn't use this book as any kind of authority on Lester's teachings.

To clarify....Steve wasn't exactly speaking of being close or almost done by his own assessment.

In his book he mentions releasing on a goal to love everyone no matter what, and he started getting really sick. He stopped because of the sickness.  He told Lester about this and he told him had he kept going he would have gone free. I assumed that meant he was almost free at one point.  :-)

It's quite a short book for the price. It's reflections on his time with Lester, how he sees the method and quotes and opinions fom Lester in the fashion of Hale's series of books Happiness is free. I do prefer Lester's stuff where we have direct quotes and teachings from him - especially Ultimate Truth and of course the amazing Keys to the Ultimate Truth, but this and stuff by other techers offer some new perspectives or clarify things that otherwie might have slipped by. I have a huge compilation of Lester quotes from various sources but this is what stood out from the book for me :

The irony is that as we release this want, or any desire totally, we obtain what we were wanting, by the spiritual law of “not wanting equates to having”. The mind, he explained to me, produces for us what it contains, 95% subconscious. As a result, a person whose mind is emptied of some of the wanting love program will feel more love from inside and consequently be more loving. Being more loving attracts more love, by the spiritual law of like produces like. “You cannot get figs from thistles” Jesus admonished his disciples.

When we find it impossible to get the love we seek, we then make a futile attempt at manipulating people and events to make them love us. Attention, respect, rewards, affection, and appreciation are all synonyms for this love. This controlling behavior spins us in a tortuous to them practice of domination and pushes the love even further away. We can see this behavior in history’s rogue’s gallery of dictators. A few people are not enough to love them; they want the whole country! The whole world is nothing but one person, one company, or one nation trying to control another one. No wonder we are in such a mess. When we release these programs as Lester’s Method teaches us, we find amazingly that the material world we so desperately are trying to control just opens for us, and gives us what we seek; no stress or strain necessary. Anyone who has a cat is familiar with the way these feline friends operate. When you act like you don’t want their affection, they just hop on your lap and make a bed right there. It is the same with nature. What you don’t want falls right in your lap.

Lester had always advised others and me that one could only experience what was in their minds. So if you did not have destruction inside you, you would not experience it outside. “You will go up instead of blow up” he joked. All of us are so conditioned from birth that the world happens to us, that we feel like victims. It is not so. He said we make a decision what we want, and then use our consciousness to achieve it.

Nature works with us to give up her rich bounty when we are in harmony.  Jesus told his disciples, “When you pray, believe you have already received it, and you shall have it.” The important word here is believe. We think we do, but in our subconscious minds, we do not. I have accomplished many things with this goals portion of the Method, by releasing the lack of belief called thoughts and feelings. “I don’t deserve it. I’ll never have it. It’s too good to be true.” All these are thoughts generated by feelings produced by programs, the main ones I spoke about before. When we let go of these “self imposed limitations” as Lester called them, we move from “wanting” to “having”. “Simple and easy”, Lester told everyone.

These are always good reminders.

I am very grateful for the forum he set up though. While I was only a browser of that forum just before it closed down, if it wasn't for that I don't think this site would exist and I wouldn't have been introduced to a wealth of teachers.

It's always very cool and interesting to hear from those who knew the source of anyone - I probably said this already but just like when I talk to someone who was there for some of the iconic jazz recordings or played in their bands, etc. - it's great to hear perspectives and stories from those from the source.

My intuition is that if this were just posted or published everyone would say what a nice thing, thanks for sharing your story etc - there is a bit of discord around it even on this very thread (i've heard a lot more since). There is a bit of a tone of "this is the REAL stuff" (underhanded or not so underhanded jabs at the more well known releasing businesses) and the "this is what the gurus aren't telling you etc." for $20. Like so many things in life it's not the thing itself it's the marketing and the angle and stuff behind it that seems to have irked people - seems unnecessary, I think he could actually do great business and be on good terms with others if it was played a bit differently.

As with many things it can be best to separate the material itself from all of that stuff and just get out of it whatever you do - on the personal level. That said, I think it is good practice to become aware of the other things not because they necessariliy have anything to do with your releasing / freedom or anything like that (some of the debates that come up around how various market, sell the technique etc.. and a common, and valid argument is to drop that stuff and focus on the benefit of the work) but one does have the right to choose whom they give their business and money do based on how they conduct their business.
